Why this directory exists
Finding a good tradesperson in Mallorca usually comes down to who you happen to know. A neighbour recommends a plumber, a friend passes on the number of a builder who actually turned up. That works - until you are new to the island, or need a trade nobody in your circle has ever hired. What is left is a search that returns paid listings, agencies that pass your enquiry on for a fee, and businesses whose last sign of life was a Facebook post from 2019.
We built the alternative we wanted ourselves: one place where the companies are real, the contact details work, and nobody paid to be at the top.
How entries are researched
Every listing is put together by hand, not scraped. For each company we check the website and look for signs that it is still trading, gather services and contact details from sources we can cite, and place it in the trades and towns that actually match what it does. The editorial description on each profile is written in the third person by us - it is our assessment of the business, not the company's own advertising copy.
Where we cannot verify something, we leave it out. A missing phone number is a gap; an invented one is a broken promise. Businesses whose website has gone dark are marked as possibly inactive and kept in the directory, because a listing still helps you identify a company whose name you were given.
What we do not do
- No commission. You contact the company directly. Nothing is routed through us, and no job generates a fee for us.
- No paid placement. Position in a category cannot be bought. The order follows the sorting you pick.
- No invented reviews. A rating appears only where we can point to a source. Most profiles therefore show none.
- No lead selling. We do not collect your enquiry, so we have nothing to pass on to anyone.
English, German and Spanish
This is the English edition of a directory that was built for the German-speaking community in Mallorca, which is why 265 companies are marked as German-speaking. In practice, most businesses here work with international clients and get by in English; many are Spanish or Mallorcan firms whose staff switch language depending on the client. Where we could verify the languages a company works in, the profile says so - if it matters for your project, ask before you book.
Corrections and removal
If you run one of the listed businesses and something is wrong - a changed number, a new address, a trade we misjudged - tell us and we will fix it. The same goes for removal: if you do not want to be listed, you do not need to give a reason. If you are looking for a company and find a dead end, that is worth reporting too. It is how the directory stays usable.
Frequently asked questions
Does it cost anything to be listed?
No. Companies do not pay to appear here, and no company can buy a better position. The order of results follows the filters and sorting you choose - never a payment.
Do you take a commission on jobs?
No. We are a directory, not an agency or a lead-generation platform. Every profile shows the phone number, email address and website of the business, and you contact it directly. Nothing is routed through us and we take no cut.
Where do the ratings come from?
Only from sources we can point to. Where a profile shows a rating, it reflects publicly available reviews we checked at the date stated on the page. Profiles without a verifiable source show no rating at all - we would rather show nothing than a number we cannot stand behind.
How current is the information?
Each profile carries the date it was last checked. We verify websites and signs of activity and mark businesses that appear to be inactive rather than deleting them, because an old listing still helps you identify a company you were given the name of. Details can still change - always confirm before you commit to a job.
My company is listed and something is wrong. What now?
Write to us and we will correct it. That applies to wrong contact details, a changed name, a trade we got wrong - and to a request for removal. We do not require a business to justify wanting out.
